I'm a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer with over 40 years experience, playing live and working in the studio.

Recording & Producing

I have just finished mixing a new instrumental album called Landscapes, which is due for release later this year. I'll keep you posted about a release date here and on Patreon.

My last album, Nine Lives, (available fror download from Apple, Amazon and Bandcamp) tells a series of dark but true stories in a variety of musical styles, ranging from blues, to rock and gospel. To learn more, click here.

I undertake production and mastering projects, working with a range of artists across a variety of genres: rock, folk, classical and spoken word.

Recent production/mastering work includes the album Displaced by North-East singer/songwriter Mike Soanes. I also regularly arrange and recorded songs for Scottish singer Terry Neason, and have written and produced music for TV, cinema and theatre.

Performance

I currently perform live with a number of North-East bands (find out more on the bands page)

In 2018, I arranged and performed music for a theatrical tour with Theatre Sans Frontieres (UK) and Theatre A l’Envers (Canada).

Other Work

I taught A-level Music Technology for 17 years, and have created many music technology teaching resources.

I am also a qualified piano tuner (trained at LCF, London) and since 2019 I have worked in association with Peter Metcalfe Piano Tuning.
